About:China Student Visa

Tourist to Student Visa

Hello,

Currently, my husband is in China on a tourist L type that expires in 10 days. He has all the necessary documents for his student X type (admissions, J202 form).
Can he get his student X type in Hong Kong or he needs to go back to his home country (Bosnia, SouthEastern Europe)?

Thanks for your help,

Anja

Anja, he can go to the exit and entry administration of the local PSB to try to change L type to X type. But if it doesn’t work, he can go to HK to have a try. If it doesn’t work either, I’m afraid he needs to go back to apply for it in his home country.

Thank you. He will go to HK. Do you think he has better chances if he goes through the visa agency?

Just one more question. I read somewhere that HK only issues one entry X type, is this a case?

Thanks for your assistance

Anja, yes, it’s usually the case.
