I'm traveling to Guilin in Aug. Upon arrival at airport, I'd go straight to Longji Rice Terrace.

What is the cheapest way to travel from the airport to Longji?

In the airport, you can take the shuttle bus to the Civial Aviation Building (CNY20), and then walk about 0.5 miles to the railway station. There you can catch the special tourist buses going to the Longji Rice Terrace.

If you want a direct way, just hire a taxi or car from the airport to the destination, and the fare is CNY400 around.
