About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Is country A and B based on flight or origin?

Hi, I am looking at doing the following schedule:
KL (Malaysia) to Beijing and then fly to Sydney with a transit stop via KL (only at the airport for 1 hour before I connect to my flight back to Sydney) will this qualify for the 72 hour visa? or does my transit at KL mean it won't count?

No, it doesn’t qualify for the free transit because after transit in Beijing, you fly back to KL even though it’s just a one-hour transit stop. You need to apply for a transit G type in advance.
