We only celebrate the birthday in the first year after the death. After that, only the death date is commemorated. We often put fresh fruits, desserts, tea, wine, and meat before the memorial tablet and burn special paper money at the tomb.

Usually the first three dead dates are important and are seriously held in his/her honor. For later service, I agree with Chen from Hongkong.
