authentication of a degree earned at a university in the united states

Question

I got my bachelor degree and teaching certificate from Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, Michigan, United States and I would like to know how do I go about  getting authenticated to start my job in china. I received a job offer to teach at a school and I am unable to travel to the states to get these documents authenticated. Please help me.

Ericka, you don’t need to travel to USA to get it authenticated. You should first go to the local notary public to have your degree notarized, and then get it authenticated by the ministry of foreign affairs in your country. The last step is to get it attested at the consulate general of PRC in Jamaica.
