Hi Jose! Could you tell me what type do you hold? The X1 or X2? If you hold the X1, you don't need to change it to a multiple entry permit. If you hold the X2, it's possible to convert it into an X1 type. Then you can apply for a temporary residence permit with the X1 type. The temporary residence permit can funciton as a multiple entry permit.

Thanks Loraine.

I have an X2 type for 4 months; I am not planning to stay there longer, just be able to eventually visit other country while in PRC. That's why I would need multiple entries

Well, Jose, in this case, I'm afraid you can't change the X type to multiple entries. You can apply for it when you visit other countries.
