About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

Luggage? When getting the 72 hour visa-free permit, does it mean that luggage has to be reclaimed?

Does customs require that I get my luggage if I leave the airport? I have a 10 hour stop over in Beijing and wish to use the 72 hour free permit to leave the airport and explore. Will I have to carry my bags with me or will they be checked through by the airline? Thanks.

Hi, Jennifer, you don't have to claim your luggage if it can be chacked through to the final destination by your airline. Please double check this with your airline.
