Is it possible to either see the monks training or attend an actual performance in the temple, mountain or somewhere else?

Yes, kungfu performances are still available in the Kungfu Performing Hall. They are scheduled at 09:30, 10:30, 11:30, 14:00, 15:00 and 16:00. During peak season, another show will be on, at 17:00. If lucky enough, you may see the monks training/practising.
