About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

3 days in Beijing, visa required or not?

Taking vacation in April . 5 days in Thailand and then 3 days in Beijing at the end of our trip. Groupon says we don't need an entry permit for China but travel health center says we do or won't be allowed to leave airport when we get there ? Getting so many mixed answers and we are running out of time. We both have valid passports.

Brandon, you mean you will fly to Thailand from US, after visit in Thailand, you will fly to Beijing for 3 days, and then go back to USA? If yes and you are sure that your layover time in Beijing is less than 72 hours, you can enjoy the free transit and you are allowed to leave the airport.

Yes, we fly from jfk to Bangkok but have a short layover in Beijing on the way to Bangkok . We spend 5 days in Thailand then head to Beijing for 3 days. Just want to make sure we DO NOT need a visa.
