About:China Visa on Arrival

HI there, we are Australian citizen and wish to visit Hong Kong and Macau.

We have booked China Southern flights which will take us to Shenzhen and arrive at 2.45 pm on 10th April.
As soon as we land Shenzhen we will catch a train to Hong Kong. Please advise if we require a VISA for China our return will be by train from Hong Kong to Shenzhen and then flight back to Sydney on 17th April.
Please advise if we can enter PRC and Leave without it.

Preeti, you don’t need an entry permit because you can use the 24 hour direct transit when you land in Shenzhen.

When you return, if your layover time in Shenzhen is less than 24 hours, no entry permit is required; but if it’s more than 24 hours, you should apply for a VOA when you arrive in Shenzhen.

In case that you are exempted from the entry permit, you should have a train ticket to and from HK before the trip. If you don't qualify for the free transit, it's possible to get the VOA upon arrival at Shenzhen.
