About:China Work Visa

is it a must to work in china to have american passport, new zealand passport etc

because it seems like everytime i look for a job here in china as a english teacher they always ask what kind of passport do i have.
Even if I have bachelors degree and tefl certificate

Yes, it's almost the case. From January 2016, the foreign teachers in PRC should be native speakers. For those non-native speakers, they should have the bachelor's degree from a country where the first language is English.
