Dear, you should provide your passport, valid entry permit and single status certificate to PRC and then register your marriage at the Department of Civil Affairs. In this way, you two get married in PRC.

Hi, I'm a Malaysian and I just got married in Shanghai last April. I was told to get a Single Status Cert. in order to get married in China. However, the Malaysia Consulate in Shanghai was not able to issue me the Cert. and I was told I have to go back to Malaysia and get it myself. They give me an introduction sheet, it listed all the steps that I need to do. So I went back and got all the documents that I needed. There are couple departments you need to go. FYI if you want to get it done in one day, I recommend you to go early in the morning, because some of the departments will close after 12:30pm. Also, all the documents come in Malay and English, if you need to translate into Chinese, they have an service counter nearby the office. Hopefully this information will be helpful for you.
