Reapply Double entry visa

I have a double entry permit (M type) since November 2015 and will expire on end of April 2016. I've used once on Nov 2015 (Business trip to Mainland), and by mid of March 2016 i need to go Mainland for business trip again. Problem is, during the trip I need to go Hong Kong and enter again to Mainland, but my current M type is valid for 1 more time entry only, therefore not sure can I cancel the current M type and reapply another double or multi entries?

Abby, you don't need to cancel the M type. If you want to apply for another double or multiple entry M type, you can directly start the application and the officer will cancel your previous M type. However, I don't think it's wise to do so because you will waste an entry. You can use this current M type to enter in March. And you can apply another one from HK when you exit from mainland to there. The normal process there also takes four working days.
