About:International Trains from/to China

Travel from Zunyi to Xian

I intend to travel from Zunyi to Xian in late March 2016.
Can someone please recommend a "good" route by rail or coach,
but not by air.
I am prepared to travel by fast type and I understand I probably
have to change ride/coach at least once.
What are the approximate travelling duration and fares?

Personally speaking, for this route, you may think about the overnight trip instead. There is no high speeds available in Zunyi and other cities nearby for this direction. By using the high speed rail like Zunyi-Chongqing-Wuhan-Xian still take a long time and even may longer then the direct overnight type. The direct trip would be around 16 to 18 hours and cost for sleeper bed is around CNY256 to CNY189.

Sherry, Thank you for your kind reply.
I surmise you recommend a journey by train from Zunyi to Xian and it takes
16-18 hours. Would that be via Changsha or Chongqing.. I suppose I can find
that out for myself when I am in Zunyi.

Am looking forward to this great adventure...esp at my senior age and cant speak
Mandarin.

Hello, Charles. The direct trip I mentioned do not have stops in Changsha and Chongqing, but have stop nearby Chongqing like Beipei or Quxian etc. You may try to check K506 or K1034. By the way, I used to write the city names in Chinese spelling and show the staff at station, it made the process a little easier. Hope you a good luck!
