You should first find a school to enroll you and then apply for a student X type at the embassy of PRC. You need to prepare the following materials:
1. Your passport and copy of its data page
2. The filled-out application form affixed with a passport-sized color photo
3. The admission letter from the school in PRC
4. JW 201 form or JW202 form and other documents the consular officers consider necessary.
As for the air ticket fare, I’m afraid you need to find it out by yourself.
