About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

72 hour policy for Stand By passengers

I will be visiting Hong Kong for 48 hours then on to Shanghai for 2 days then back to the US. As a standby passenger on the return to the US (no confirmed seat) can I use a free transit.

Kim, I’m sorry. As far as I know, the 72 hour policy is not applicable to those holding stand-by tickets. You must hold a confirmed air ticket with confirmed date and seat.
