Airport transit at Hong Kong, transit visa needed?

Hi, I am a Bangladeshi, holding a Canadian work entry permit. Do I need a transit entry permit to fly through HK airport from Bangladesh to Canada? FYI-Previously I was not allowed to transit at HK with Chinese student entry permit.Your suggestion would be highly appreciated. Thank you in advance for your support.

Yes, you need it and you should apply for it before you start off. You need to prepare the following documents to apply for it: the application form, a passport-style photo, your passport and its copy, proof of your financial support, flight itinerary, and your work permit in Canada.
As for your previous experience, it’s because HK and mainland PRC carries out the different policy on exit and entry. Usually, one should apply for two different entry permit to HK and mainland PRC.

Thanks a lot Ahmed for your valuable response. I am little confused on it. Someone also said that if I have a Canadian residence permit (temporary) I do not need to apply for transit to fly through HK. Anyway, thanks again.
