About:China Visa Entries / Validity / Duration of Stay

Can I enter more than once on a tourist visa, within 12 months?

I was in mainland PRC on a tourist L type back in November 2015. I'm planning on going back in May this year for a friends wedding. I'm concerned there is a rule against applying for a tourist L type more than once within one year.
Does anyone know if there is such a rule?
