Sure. You can take high speed train in the early morning from Shanghai. The train ride only takes around half an hour. This city is famous for the elegant gardens. I think the Humble Administrator's Garden and Tiger Hill are must see places. If time permits, you may also visit the Garden of the Masters of the Nets. After that, take high-speed train back to Shanghai.

There are several railway stations. If your train arrives at Suzhou Railway Station, you may take bus no. 178(3 stops), 518(3 stops), 202(4 stops) or 2 and get off at the Musuem, then walk for 320 meters to the Humble Administrator's Garden. Taxi fare is around CNY10. From Humble Administrator's Garden to Tiger Hill, I suggst you take taxi directly, the fare is about CNY30. Then take taxi at cost of about CNY30 to the Garden of the Masters of the Nets. If you also want to visit some other places, taking taxi is the most convenient way. It can save your time.
