About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Transit visa - what if staying with a friend

Hello there - just wondering, if I transit in Chengdu for 72 hours and stay with a friend rather than at a hotel, will I have to register with the local PSB within 24 hours? Would be very grateful for some advice.
