the guest hongbao (red packet) can be kept by the couple or must be returned to the bride's parents?

As far as I know, the custom is quite different throughout the country. Generally, Hong Bao received from the seniors and relatives should be restored by parents. Those given by colleagues and friends can be reserved by the couple.
