Layover Lunch Downtown Shanghai

I am landing at PVG at 12:30 am. Want take Maglev to downtown and am planning to get to West Nanjing Road for some delicious fare before the flight leaving at 4:30. Will I have time to do this, and can someone tell me what transfers and where in order to do this with 83 year old mother. Thanks. Julie from Honolulu, Hawaii, USA

Personally speaking, i think the time is too rush. If the flight land at 12:30, you may checkout around 1pm. And usually it is advisable to arrive the airport about 2 hours in advance before departure. There is only about 90min left for your transfer and lunch.

Thanks for the feedback. My only option will be to take the MagLev to the end of the line - Lonyang Metro Station to head over to the Kerry Hotel for nearby restaurant fare near shopping center action. Anyone have any suggestions? I will checkout from Ramada PVG early @ 9am,, leave bags with hotel, hop on MagLev at PVG. Either Bund or W. Nanjing possible, or no?

I'd say it will be a 1.5 hour round trip. Allowing an hour lunch, and an hour to go thru security/immigration. You need at least 3.5 hours

It appears to be a pretty sorry menu board at the airport, and I have heard so many good things about Shanghai cuisine. However, I didnt want to risk dragging bags around to stay downtown w/ time restraint, so got room @ Ramada PVG, so using 5 minute shuttle/ every 30 minute btwn hotel.

If you only limited to Longyang road area, you may have a try for Shanghai Min restaurant. It has a branch at Kerry Parkside, 2F which is close to Kerry Hotel, working time from 11am to 10pm. You may call them for advice if you like: (+86 21) 5033 8155. If you can go further to the Bund etc, more restaurants can be find like Noble House, Lynn. You may take these as a reference and check online for details.
