I think 45 minutes by bus from dongzhimen. DO NOT LET THESE PEOPLE AT THE STATION TELL YOU TO GET ON ANOTHER BUS. Go with the buses listed here and plan your trip. Then once you get to the end of the bus service take a cab to mutianyu. Another 20-25 minutes.

No, it is not the final stop, so you need to ask the driver to reminder of you the drop-off site, which is Huairou Beidajie in Pinyin. And I don't think the minivans are officially operated. Most of them are private. Just negotiate for a flat rate before boarding (CNY50 or around).

The H series buses often operate two or three times a day. It is recommended to take the bus h23, which runs 7 times per day. The departure time of it are 6:00, 7:20, 12:40, 17:10, 18:00, 18:30, and 19:00. It would take about 2h to get to the wall.

You may need to take the earliest bus no.867, which departs from Dongzhimen at 7am.
