About:Mutianyu Great Wall

Hi, may I know what is the total travelling time to Mutianyu Great Wall scenic area

I'll start from Dongzhimen bus station, with the transfer in-between? Thanks!

I think 45 minutes by bus from dongzhimen. DO NOT LET THESE PEOPLE AT THE STATION TELL YOU TO GET ON ANOTHER BUS. Go with the buses listed here and plan your trip. Then once you get to the end of the bus service take a cab to mutianyu. Another 20-25 minutes.

Hi Fred, is the final destination of Bus 916 Express Huairou North Avenue? How do I tell that the minivans at Huairou North Avenue are official transport to the wall? Thank U for all your replies!

No, it is not the final stop, so you need to ask the driver to reminder of you the drop-off site, which is Huairou Beidajie in Pinyin. And I don't think the minivans are officially operated. Most of them are private. Just negotiate for a flat rate before boarding (CNY50 or around).

Hi, may I know what is the frequency of the H series buses at Huairou Beidajie? Are the buses hard to wait? If I take these buses, how long will it take to travel from Huairou Beidajie to the wall?

Also, with regards to the direct tourist bus 867, how many buses leaving at 7am from Dongzhimen?

The H series buses often operate two or three times a day. It is recommended to take the bus h23, which runs 7 times per day. The departure time of it are 6:00, 7:20, 12:40, 17:10, 18:00, 18:30, and 19:00. It would take about 2h to get to the wall.

You may need to take the earliest bus no.867, which departs from Dongzhimen at 7am.

Hi, for the direct bus 867 leaving at 7am, only ONE bus in operation? If only ONE bus leaving at 7am to the wall is FULL, then we have to wait for next bus at 8:30am? Thanks!

Yes, that is right. Only two buses are in service from March 15th to November 15th, at 07:00 and 08:30.
