About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Start of the 72 hour period

Does anyone have experience with the start time of the 72-hour period? Are there instances where someone has anyone been fined/held (for lack of a better description) for counting from 00:01 the next day and thus technically staying longer than 72 hours?

Thanks a lot!

J

Not every city on the list is using the 00:01 rule (the information at travelchinaguide is wrong).
At which city you wanna use the 72h?

But beware the most problem is at the checkin of your departure airport.
Not every airline is familar with the twov and it could be possible that they are denying you boarding although the chinese city is using the 00:01 rule.
Check it better with your airline but I would recommend you not to stretch the 72h to be on the safe side.

Thanks a lot Thomas. We're arriving in Beijing but indeed best not to take any risks.

Cheers!
