getting to badaling portion of great wall of china

Question

How to go to the wall from badaling railway station on foot . How much time will it take on foot from base of the mountain to go up the mountain ( to the wall)  and how much time it will take to descend to the below. Do all people go by  cable car and pulley?

Hi, Suresh! After you arrive at the railway station, walk eastwards for 1,000yd (915m) and you will reach the wall. This section has two parts. To finish the whole hiking of the northern part, it may need around 3h and the southern part is about 2h. Cable car and pulley are optional. If you feel too tired to walk, these facilities will help you save some energy. Enjoy your time there!
