About:Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport

I am flying from london to phuket via guangzhou

Do I collect bags at GZ then go through passport control or do I take another route and sit somewhere else for my 5 hour wait?

If holding through ticket, there is no need to recheck your lugagge at CAN. It will be directly dilivered to ur destination. For the transfer, you need to go through inspection and quarantine, without leaving the transit area. Then walk to Area A, International Departure Hall to wait for your onward flight.
