About:China Transit Visa

Transit visa needed or not

Hi, i am holding Malaysian Passport and will be flying from Seoul and transit in Beijing / Shanghai for 15 hours, do i need any entry permit if i wanted to have a short tour to the city? Thank you.

Yin, you don’t need it because your total layover time in PRC is less than 24 hours, you can enjoy the 24 hour direct transit. But you need to make sure that after transiting in PRC, you will fly to a third country or region different from Korea.
If you want to have a short tour in the city, you need to apply for a temporary stay permit at the airport and it’s free of charge.

Hi, Yin i'm from Malaysia too but living in Canada so did you have to get a visa or not for transit(less than 24 hrs) in Shanghai?
