About:FAQ of Chinese Visa Application

72 Hour Free Travel Visa

I'm a bit confused. Does this only apply to people on a layover? Or can I just fly and stay 3 days and then return home?

Brad, the policy only applies to people on a layover. So if you want to use it, you can fly from the US to HK or Macau first and then get to mainland China. After that, you can fly back to the US.
