passport expiration. will i have any issue getting a visa to visit?

Hello - My passport is set to expire March 2017. I plan to go to PRC in May 2016.  I live in Chicago, and the trip is scheduled to be ~3 weeks in duration.Thanks!

Well, it's ok. If you want to visit PRC in May 2016, you can apply for the L type in April. At that time, your passport is valid for more than six months, which meets the requirements of the L type application.
