Bring Bread and Peanut Butter to China. any problem with the customs?

My son has autism and sensory processing disorder. When travelling to China in March, we are planning to bring a big suitcase full of loaves of bread and peanut butter. Does anyone know if this will cause any problems for us at customs? Our greatest fear is having it all confiscated.

It is allowed to bring some in, but I'm afraid it is too much with a full suitcase of that. Just prepare some for your son. They should be brought in check-in luggage. You can also buy some in CN. Don't worry!

Thank-you for your response, Henry. Do you know if it would be helpful to have a copy of our son's diagnosis or a letter by his doctor stating the reason we are trying to bring so much? Unfortunately, there are only particular brands that he will eat and it is unlikely that we will find them in PRC.

Debbie, usually those who take a large amount of medicine for personal use are required to provide their medical report and doctor's prescription. I don't know how the customs deals with your case. If you really want to try, I think you should bring the original documents.
