The city is not that international as Shanghai and Beijing. And I'm afraid there are many expats. You can try to ask help for the Community/Forum of this website. Maybe you can find other foreign people in there. Good luck~

Hi Derek here from Ireland, I have a job offer there at the Paddington International high school and was wondering the same thing ( 1 year later ). Is there any Laowei scene there at all in a city of 2.8m people ? Ive been in Shanghai for years and would like to know about the city and it's amenities.
