About:How to Travel to China without a Visa

Cruise stop at Shanghai 13th October 2016

Our cruise is docking in Shanghai for 16 hours. I would like to leave the cruise ship and take a city tour. Do I need a visa to do this please? Many thanks. Mervyn P

Mervyn, you are eligible for the 24 hour direct transit, in this case, no entry permit is needed. But you’d better confirm that with the cruise company. If you can use the direct transit policy, you only need to apply for a temporary stay permit at the port to take a city tour.
