Transfers from Port to City of Shanghai

Hi we will disembark from a ship in Shanghai. Is the Port far from town and what is the best way to get transport. Should we pre-book transfers?

There are several ports in Shanghai. Which one do you refer to? If your ship will arrive at Wusongkou Port, you can take bus no. 9 and then change to subway line 3 to downtown area.
