Are we okay to apply in Singapore and get a rush service?

Hi we have been backpacking having left the UK last year and plan to visit China in April hence couldn't apply for a visa until now. We have downloaded the forms and have invitation letter from tour operator in PRC.

Kelly, I am afraid that you may not be able to apply in Singapore because the applicants who apply there are required to provide their long-term resident permit. I think you can go to apply from Chinese embassy in Thailand. According to many foreigners, they get Chinese tourist types successfully from there.
