I want to apply for a student visa to study in china

I have plans to go an study Masters in Engineering, how do I go about the application process and what documents must I have with me?
What is the cost and how long does X type last for?

First, you apply for a Chinese university. If they accept your application, then they will prepare the admission letter and JW202 form for you. After getting these two documents, you can bring them together with your passport, filled application form, a recent passport photo and your physical examination record to apply for X type from Chinese embassy in your country.

The X1 type usually has 30 days duration of stay. You are required to change your X1 into long-term resident permit at local entry and exit management bureau upon arrival. Its duration is usually given according to your studying period.

It costs around SLL 230,000 to apply for a X1 type.
