Can I still use resident permit up to expiration date 3/16, if I cancel work permit now?
I have quit my previous job in China, and don't expect to get another one for a few months in another province after Chinese New Year. Someone told me I need to get a letter of work cancelation and take it to the work bureau so they can cancel my work permit. They said I won't be able to get another work permit until the existing one is cancelled. My resident permit doesn't expire til March. If I go and cancel my work permit now, will they also cancel my resident permit? If I don't get another job before March, I'm planning to get a tourist visa...but I want to continue to use my resident permit until March if possible.
