U.S. Citizen in Philippines - Where Do I get a VISA?

Hi there,

I'm a U.S. citizen traveling Asia right now, and I'm currently located in the Philippines. My next stop is Chengdu, China. I leave in two weeks. Where can I apply to get an entry permit, since I cannot go back to the U.S.?

Thanks,

Kaitlyn

Dear, if you want to apply for it in Philippines, you are required to provide valid residence, work or study permit at there. I think it’s very difficult because you just travel there temporarily. But you can have a try.
As far as I know, if you apply for it in some nearby countries, you can just provide your valid entry permit to that country. If your application is not approved in Philippines, maybe you can go to a nearby country and have a try.

I was able to go to the China Embassy in Manila, Philippines, and do the application there.

When did you do the application? What documents did they require you to submit? I'm in the same situation but wonder whether can I do the application here. BTW, I plan to stay here only for a month. Appreciate for your response.

Hi Betty,

You need to give print out your round-trip air tickets, a copy of your Passport, a copy of the page with the current entry permit (passport stamp) of country where you are applying for the Visa (for us, we needed a scan of the passport page with the Philippines stamp), and a photo of you with a white background (my photo had an off-white background, and they made us retake the photo). Also, make sure for the photo that it's printed on photo paper. Yes, they're really this strict about it.

Hope that helps!
