pay difference to extend from train from shaoguan to changsha

You can pay the difference and continue the trip but it cannot guarantee the seat for you. If the seat fully booked, you need to stand for the rest trip.

I didn’t try it but I used to see one Chinese do it. He spoke to one staff passing by and later another staff come and take the charge and give him a note with some words on it (I can speak some Mandarin but cannot read so have no idea what it is). But that time, there are still seats left so later when another man come to ask his seat, he just walked away and sat on another empty one. So I just guess if the seats fully booked, you may stand instead.
