About:Tiger Leaping Gorge (Hutiao Gorge)

Hike without going to "attraction?"

I'm going to Tiger Leaping Gorge on CNY day. Wonder if the entrance will be open, and if not, is there a way to hike a trail along the Gorge without being let into the park (or whatever it is?)

It will be open normally. Don't worry. But I want to remind you that it is quite challenging to hike it. Hence, you need to make full preparation for that. Take care and have fun!

Hey Lewis,

It says above that the hike is only 9 miles. That's not a really short distance, but it's not too long either. What make the hike so challenging?is it quite steep?

Yes, especially for the middle section, the road is rough and rugged. You'd better to prepare some professional hiking equipments.
