About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

quick turn around

US passport, flight from US to Beijing. 2 hours after landing I am leaving on flight returning to US. The 72 visa doesn't apply as return is to US. What do I need?

Surely you can't do that. It's a transit visa, so you can't return to your origin region.
