I am vincentian and I want to apply chinese visa to join the ship

what kind do I need to apply and how long processing

Joy, according to what you said, I think you can apply for a tourist L type or transit G type. It usually takes 4 working days.
But if you don't have valid residence permit, work permit or study permit, I'm afraid it's very hard for you to apply for it from there. You’d better contact with the embassy and confirm you can apply from there or not. If not, you should go to the consulate of PRC in Barbados to apply for it.
