Tunxi as a base for sightseeing

I am severely disabled. Need to rest lots.

But if I stayed there as a base, would it be feasible to gently sightsee all the nearby villages and towns? Would it be feasible to hire a taxi for 3-4 hours each time? I need to recline, so I could sit in the front seat of a taxi, with the seat reclined. I would need several days rest between each expedition.

I know it doesn't seem worth it, but I've been ill so many years. Can use sleeper train.
