train ride in western china

there is only one train from Guangzhou to Urumqi and it takes more than 48 hours. I think taking flight is a better choice. The soft sleeper ticket costs ¥1231.50 per ticket.

it will take nearly 49hours by train , problem is not really easy to book the ticket due to only one direct train to Urumqi , as spring is not high season you d better take a flight , you could got very good discounted air ticket , it can be cheaper than train ticket. maybe you are planning to see the scenery all the way to Urumqi but no one can guarantee that buy/book your soft sleeper train ticket for your planning depature dates. its a bit risky business .

Or you could book your train ticket to Lanzhou / Xi ning from Guanzhou and take a fast train (1st calss seat , 2nd calss seats)to Urumqi , takes 10-11hours .

due to only one direct train to Urumqi , its quite a bit difficlut to buy/book it , its available to book online so no one could guarentee that they can buy/book it to your planning depature date . so you d better to take a flight , spring is not high season you can get cheaper flight ticket , sometime its cheaper than train .
