what is a reasonable price for a cab from the center of beijing to jiankou?

Is it fairly easy to wander around this area of the wall without a guide? I have been to Mutianyu and have done Jinshanling to Simatai with a guide but want to try something different.

It should be around CNY 600. Some drivers even ask CNY 800. You should do your best to bargain with them. I really advise that you should wander with a guide. It's totally different from other parts. If you didn't go there before, it's very likely that you might get lost. More importantly, it's much more dangerous because this section hasn't been restored.
