About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

72 hour transit.,

If I am leaving from Los Angeles to Thiland but a lay over for 12 hours in Shanghai, would that 72 hours free pass be available for me to leave the airport and come back?

Tashana, actually, you can sue the 24 hour direct transit because your layover time is just 12 hours. In this case, you can also leave the airport, but you need to apply for a temporary stay permit at the airport.
