How to apply for tourist visa for package tour in April leaving from USA while working in Paraguay.

Hi Deborah, you can apply whether in the USA or Paraguay, just choose a place more convenient for you. I advise you to submit the application one month prior to the departure date. Before submiting your application, you should ask the travel agency to issue you a travel itinerary about accommodation arrangements and round-trip transportation arrangements. Then you need to prepare your passport, passport copy, a filled-out application form, and entry permit or residence permit in the application country if it's not your home country. Then, bring all documents to the embassy.

Dear Marlon,

I am unable to find a PRC embassy here in Asuncion, the capital city of Paraguay. I can not go to the USA one month before the trip. Is there a way to find an embassy in a neighboring country here in South America?

Deborah, sorry, I didn't notice this point. It's right that there is no PRC embassy in Paraguay. You can go to the PRC consulate in Sao Paulo of Brazil to submit the application.

Dear Marlon,

Do you know if there is an embassy or consulate in Argentina, Bolivia or Chile? I don't speak Portuguese and it might be cheaper to go where I have contacts to stay with.

Or here is another possibility. If I have all of my documents together and land in Toronto Canada on a Monday, do you think I would be able to get my own visa at the consulate there by the end of the week?

Hi, there are PRC embassies in Argentina, Bolivia and Chile. You can go to any of them.

If you apply from Canada, the application process usually takes 4 working days. In addition, express service and rush service are also provided, which takes 3 and 2 working days separately. So it may be possible.

If you are American citizen, you'd better go back to USA and apply.

Dear Marlon,

I am a Canadian citizen and an American citizen living and working in Paraguay. If I get the PRC entry permit in Toronto and leave from the USA, will this be a problem? The trip is a gift.

Well, you can apply from Toronto and leave from the USA. It's ok. The thing you need to bear in mind is that you should use your Canadian passport when applying from Toronto.
