About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

Is there a restriction on how many times the 72 hour visa-free transit is used?

I want to use the 72 hour free transit twice at PEK in less than a month. The first is for a 20 hour layover on Dec 22 from US continuing on to Sri Lanka and the second is a 14 hour layover on Jan 9 coming from Sri Lanka back to the US. Would there be any problem since we have connecting tickets for both legs of our trip?

Erin, in fact, you don't need to apply for 72 hour free transit because your layover time for both legs of trip is less than 24 hours. You are eligible for the 24 hour direct transit. Thus, don't worry! Plus, there is no restriction on how many times you can use the 72-hour free transit program.
