How to know if we need ATA-Carnet

Thanks for your replies on ATA-Carnet. Now question arises- how to define 'large scale'? Is it for imports greater than value USD 5000 or weight wise greater than 1000 kg or something like that? How to define?

Amrita, actually there is no detailed regulation on "large scale". The customs just requires that passengers are required to take things under reasonable quantities for personal use. However, they don't specify what exactly "reasonable quantities" means.

If you are very worried, you might consult with a import and export trade company in your country. They should be more experienced in dealing with these issues.
