About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Flying from U.S. to Taiwan from Dec 29th - Jan 8th then Taiwan to Shanghai from Jan 8th - Jan 10th.

Is a China Visa needed for this or does it qualify for the 72 hour free transit?

William, after your stopover in Shanghai, where would you fly to?
If it is a third country or region (including USA), you are eligible for the 72 hour free transit and you don’t need an entry permit.
If not, you should apply for one in advance.
