Eight hour stopover

My wife and I have an eight hour stopover in Guangzhou on the way over to Europe. Is that enough time to get into the city to see something and what would be recommended?

Well, the time is enough, but you need to hurry up. Upon arrival, apply for a 24h visa-free stay permit, and you can leave the airport. You are advised to go to Haizhu Square, Beijing Road, and Pearl River. Remember to go back to the airport at least two hours before departure. :)
